Welcome to the new version of the Cumberland County Register of Deeds remote access site.   This site combines additional data with additional features to provide our users with more tools to complete searches.   The additional data includes:

• All land record indexing data from 1754-1976 (scanned index books)
• All land record images from Book 1 (1754) to Book 2083 (February 1968)

We have also added additional features to the search portion of the site.  These include:

• Providing three timeframes for land record searches
  • Pre-1995 standards data (1984 to 1994)
  • Post 1995 standards data (1995 to current)
  • Combined data (1984 to current); Note that in some cases the name and instrument type abbreviations were changed in 1995
• Changing the image viewer to display PDF format images, eliminating the need to download ActiveX controls
• Adding the ability to display multiple directory entries at the same time by clicking on the boxes to the left of the indexing directory results
• Adding the ability to sort multiple directory entries by name or date
• Reversing the Photostat images to black lettering on white background
• Adding the ability to search the records by filing date only (including the ability to restrict this search by instrument type)
• Adding the ability to print indexing and final detail screen search results in a formatted print that provides larger amounts of space between search results
• Adding the ability to link from a search result to a related document image (based on the inclusion of information in the description field)

We have eliminated the use of ActiveX controls for the viewing and printing of all images and the scanned index books.   Now, we use pdf format images.   Users can use any pdf viewer for viewing these pages.   A commonly used free viewer is available at
